The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2025 results are finally out, and this year’s result has become a headline for all the right reasons. A total of 22 students have scored a perfect 100 percentile, which is a remarkable achievement. But what makes this year’s success even more special is that many toppers come from rural and small-town backgrounds. Their hard work and stories of determination are winning hearts all over the state.

What is MHT CET?

The MHT CET is an entrance exam conducted by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell. It is used for admission into undergraduate courses like engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture in colleges across Maharashtra. The exam is considered highly competitive, with lakhs of students appearing every year.

In 2025, the exam was conducted in online mode in May, and the results were declared on June 16, 2025.

Toppers from Unexpected Places

This year, the spotlight is on students from rural Maharashtra who have achieved big against all odds. Here are some of the most inspiring stories:

 Ramesh Jadhav – Beed District

Ramesh, a farmer’s son from a small village in Beed, secured 100 percentile in the PCM group. With limited access to internet and coaching, he studied mostly using books and free YouTube lectures. “Electricity was not regular, but I used to study at night with a lantern,” he says proudly.

Ayesha Shaikh – Nanded

Ayesha is the daughter of a tailor and comes from a conservative background. Despite facing societal pressures, she topped with 100 percentile in PCB. She wants to become a cardiologist and serve her village where there’s no good hospital.

Swapnil Pawar – Jalgaon

Swapnil walked 5 km every day to reach his school. With no coaching institute nearby, he relied on state-provided digital learning platforms. His dream is to become a mechanical engineer and help develop low-cost farming tools for poor farmers.

Out of the 22 students who scored 100 percentile, 9 are girls. This is a strong message that gender is no barrier to success. Many of these girls broke stereotypes, managed household chores, and still scored top marks. One such example is Vaishnavi Patil from Sangli, who balanced farming work in the morning and studies at night.

Girls Shine Bright

Government Support Programs Helped

Several students credited their success to state government schemes like:

  • Free Online Coaching Classes
  • Digital Library Access
  • Scholarships for Economically Weaker Students

These programs helped rural and poor students compete with those from metro cities.

What’s Next for Toppers?

Now that the results are out, these students are aiming to get admission into top colleges like:

  • COEP (College of Engineering Pune)
  • VJTI Mumbai
  • ICT Mumbai
  • Government Medical Colleges

Some even have dreams of going to IITs or AIIMS, depending on their career path.

Reactions from Parents and Teachers

The parents of these students are emotional and proud. Many of them never went to school themselves but made sure their children got an education. Teachers from government schools also feel happy and appreciated as their students shine nationally.

One teacher from Osmanabad said, “We always believed our kids could do this. All they needed was guidance and support.”

Final Words

The MHT CET 2025 results are not just about marks; they are about breaking barriers, beating the odds, and proving that talent exists in every corner of the state.

These 22 toppers, especially those from rural backgrounds, have shown that with hard work, dedication, and support, anything is possible. Their stories are a reminder that dreams don’t need luxury they need courage and commitment.
